The Last Remnant Review by Azisien

Posted in Azisien, PC, Playstation 3, Reviews, Xbox 360 on June 11th, 2010

Many teeth-gritted hours will be lost before you come to realize the minute amount of redeeming qualities The Last Remnant has to offer. By then, you’ll probably be too pissed with the game to continue onto the second disc. (1/5).

Pokemon HeartGold Review by Azisien

Posted in Azisien, Nintendo DS, Reviews on May 28th, 2010

Pokemon HeartGold is a reboot of a series that hasn’t changed in 12 years. This isn’t all that surprising from Nintendo, but somehow, impossibly, Pokemon is still fantastic. (5/5)

Alan Wake Review by Azisien

He’s a writer, you know. Alan Wake advertises itself as a psychological thriller exclusive for the Xbox 360. I’d say that’s correct on pretty much all counts, and despite a few flaws here and there, it’s a fantastic original production and my nomination for Best Rental of 2010. (4.5/5)

Mass Effect 2 Review by Azisien

Mass Effect 2 hits me like a bag of bricks, but with love and fuzzy feelings instead of mortar, and awesome times instead of bricks. The bag is also made of chocolate and vanilla cake. This game is fucking awesome okay? 5/5.

Mass Effect Review by Azisien

I decide to remove Mass Effect once more from my shelf to prepare for the arrival of Mass Effect 2. Despite its technical flaws, it kicked ass in 2007 and it still kicks ass today. (5/5)

Left 4 Dead 2 Review by Azisien

Posted in Azisien, PC, Playstation 3, Reviews, Xbox 360 on January 15th, 2010

Okay, I admit it, the naming convention Valve has trapped themselves in is stupid. Assuming they continue down sequel road now, what will they do? Left 4 Dead 4? That just sounds stupid. Would they leave it at Left 4 Dead? But that was the first game’s name! Ultimately this is good news for folks [...]

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Review by Azisien

Posted in Azisien, PC, Playstation 3, Reviews, Xbox 360 on December 25th, 2009

What would happen if the game industry was not just a boring collection of – let’s face it – relatively greasy nerds sitting in offices typing code and working in 3DSMax or ZBrush? Suppose the game industry was more of a grand maelstrom of warring factions. Each game company would own its market share of [...]

Brutal Legend Review by Azisien

Posted in Azisien, Playstation 3, Reviews, Xbox 360 on October 30th, 2009

I have not played any other games designer Tim Schafer had a hand in, so my excitement for Brutal Legend really only began when I played the demo that appeared on Xbox Live shortly before the game’s release.  And boy did my excitement rise!  There are at most a handful of times a year where [...]

Sometimes GPD doesn’t agree with itself. This time, Mirai hates Scribblenauts. Azisien doesn’t.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood Review by Azisien

Posted in Azisien, Playstation 3, Reviews, Xbox 360 on September 18th, 2009

I hadn’t really been following the news streams for Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood developed by Techland.  Perhaps this is a good thing, however, because it meant I had no set qualifications when I powered the game on besides “I sure hope this is a good game.”  I’m a relative fan of the western [...]

Halo Wars Review by Azisien

Posted in Azisien, Reviews, Xbox 360 on September 4th, 2009

One important part of absorbing a review to me is getting some idea of the author so I can tell if he’s a good judge of a game for my personal tastes.  With that, let me begin by saying I’m not much a fan of Halo.  Aside from the early addition of co-op and casual [...]

Dishwasher: Dead Samurai Review by Azisien

Posted in Azisien, Reviews, Xbox 360 on August 16th, 2009

Back in April, an interesting title made its way onto the Xbox Live Arcade. At first glance The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai (henceforth called Dishwasher) had all the makings of a great arcade title for me: the word samurai, a shotgun as a prominent weapon, and an angry, shirtless man flanked by a happy chef with [...]
